So, just to make this formal. All Eureka Aquanatal classes and Baby Massage classes are not going ahead for the foreseeable future. Email will go out to all currently registered regarding refunds, check your SPAM folder as my mails sometimes end up there! Its with fear and trepidation that I’m heading in to HSE work tomorrow as redeployment is upon us, but just don’t know where, what or how yet!
Stay safe, stay cool ( a dip in the sea if you’re really missing the water always a possibility!!) stay wonderful and let me know about all your gorgeous babies being born, there is great hope for the future once we get past this. Miss you all. Aileen

New Aquanatal Venue!! GymPlus Swords!

Great news!  Monday October15th 7-8pm 2018 sees a new Eureka Aquanatal splash happening for all of North County Dublin.  We’ll be welcoming Mums-To-Be from Swords, Skerries, Santry, Rush, Lusk, Portrane, Donabate and surrounding areas for some physio-led fitness and fun in the pool, a powerful preparation for birth and beyond!

Eureka has a new Aquanatal  (antenatal water exercise class) starting in GymPlus Swords, right in the heart of Applewood Village.  Its a lovely bright and warm pool with newly refurbished changing areas and showers.  Aileen Convery, chartered physiotherapist, and mum of 4, is leading the class which has developed over the past 15 years while helping over 3000 pregnant women exercise in an almost weightless state in water!

You won’t believe how great you’ll feel in the water, and its great to still catch that fitness buzz after your workout. People also say that they have their best nights sleep of the week after the Aquanatal session.  Mums-to-Be with pelvic and back pain can still exercise with Eureka, the class is modified to accommodate any difficulties.

Come join us!   Book your class here

Aquanatal exercise improves birth outcomes at time of delivery.

As Eureka Hydrotherapy approaches it’s twelfth year (yes I know!) we feel that it’s beyond time to relaunch our website.

We’ll be keeping you up to date on developments in hydrotherapy, antenatal health and fitness, early motherhood, baby swimming, changes to class times, and new additions to our schedule.

Please let us know by leaving a reply (see link above) if there is any other topic you would like us to feature here on the blog.

What to do between your Antenatal Aqua classes

Aileen Convery

Aileen Convery

Aileen shares her tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and building stamina during your pregnancy between your Antenatal Aqua classes.

Labour and early motherhood is really all about stamina! I encourage all my Mums-to-be to keep walking every day to help build this stamina. If you are not having significant problems with your pelvis, walking is a terrific way of keeping active. I generally think little and often is better, so 20 minutes at lunchtime and another twenty minutes in the evening once dinner/dishes done either by yourself for some headspace or with a chatting buddy really does make the time fly. Saving yourself for a three hour marathon in the Dundrum Centre is just not going to do it!

I think the activeness of Aquanatal complements Yoga or Pilates very well where postures are more static and slow.

But, you really can’t beat the water for easy three dimensional movement. You can kid yourself into feeling not pregnant at all! Going to your local pool in between classes and doing some of your favourite bits from the class will keep your stamina building too. If you want me to run through anything with you, just ask at your next class.
